About Us
Newark Development Partners is a collaborative venture engaging the public and private sectors dedicated to incentivizing investments in Newark, Ohio in order to sustain economic development, create jobs and further improve the business, individual and residential living areas of our vibrant and attractive city!
In early 2012, Newark Development Partners CIC was established as a nonprofit Ohio corporation. NDP is a partnership between the City of Newark, Ohio and the Licking County Chamber of Commerce. The articles of incorporation, dated April 23, 2012, stated the purposes of the CIC are “to advance, encourage, and promote the industrial, economic, commercial and civic development of the City of Newark, Ohio.” Board members are appointed by the City of Newark and the Licking County Chamber of Commerce.
Fred Ernest has been the Executive Director of Newark Development Partners since 2013. His responsibilities include developing meaningful relationships within Newark, coordinating efforts with representatives of our government while leading Newark in the Revitalization era.
Newark is being noticed throughout Ohio as a progressive city that is growing in population and has a strong economic development focus. NDP has been engaged to date in several Newark initiatives:
